And So It Begins....

Tomorrow is the first day back for teachers in my school district.  Tuesday and Wednesday are filled with meetings and professional development.  Thursday the students return...

My sink counter will soon be filled with paints and brushes...

My hands will look like this all day long...

My desks will look like this once again...

And the Art Room will be filled with lots of this...

And this...

And this.

Here's to a great new school year for all filled with lots of Creativity and Laughter!

    1. It did seem long this summer! We got out for summer much earlier last school year because of the mild winter and no snow days. Forecasters are predicting that won't repeat itself again in the northeast this winter! :)

  2. You commented to me (at Dream Painters) that it was strange to read of September 1 being the first day of our Spring.... I'm reading all of these 'back to school' posts - and we are nearing the end of 3rd term! Have a wonderful year!! :)

  3. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has hands that look like that during the school year! Today I get to say goodbye to having long manicured nails as after next week, my nails will soon become short and brittle from being washed so much! Good luck tomorrow!

    1. I never have nails! Any nails that I do have after school starts is always filled with crayon, paint, oil pastel... I wash my hands so much that my cuticles get really dried out and I have to put cuticle oil on them to keep them cracking!

  4. I found your blog from "Art, Paper, Scissors, Glue!" and this post made me smile! My hands and desk look just like that once school is in full swing (much to the shock of the other teachers in my school!). Glad to see I am not the only one! Hope your first few days back with students have been going well!

    1. Years ago I shared an office with the AEP teacher. Both our desks touched side by side. We both had so much stuff on our desks that you couldn't see the desks! It looked like a giant mountain! But if you asked us where something was we could pull it form the pile no problem! :)
